Castle, Wine & Vision – Nexpirit Customer Day 2025

How can companies successfully align sustainability, compliance, and digitalization? And above all: how are others doing it? These were the central questions at the Nexpirit Customer Day 2025, held in early September at the Schlosshotel Steinburg, overlooking Würzburg and the renowned “Am Stein” vineyards.

A kick-off between history and enjoyment

The traditional vineyard walk on the evening before the event set the tone with an unusual historical perspective. Among vines and panoramic views, participants learned that in the Middle Ages wine was sweetened with “lead sugar” – a common but now unthinkable practice. A striking example of how knowledge, regulation, and product safety have evolved over the centuries.

Shared challenges across industries

The following day, attention turned to the pressing topics currently shaping companies across a wide range of industries – from electronics and automotive to medical and laboratory technology:

How can sustainability be integrated into product development?
How can material management be made efficient and reliable?
What requirements come with product compliance?
And: how can the Digital Product Passport be implemented most effectively?

“At the Nexpirit Customer Day, there are always inspiring ideas and impulses. You get the exchange: what developments and progress are others working on, and how can we solve challenges? You take home real inspiration,” said Lennart Gorholt, Senior Director Management Systems & Solution Design at Phoenix Contact and participant at the event.

Michael Otten, Head of Technical Design at Doepke Schaltgeräte GmbH, was equally enthusiastic: “It’s the exchange that makes the difference – from compliance to sustainability and IT. All the experts are here.”

Barcamp: ideas from the community

In the afternoon, the Barcamp format took center stage. Instead of predefined lectures, participants brought in their own topics, voted collectively, and developed solutions in small groups. “The morning presentations always raise new questions. With the Barcamp, we have the space to address them directly – without having to define them in advance,” explained Daniel Schott, Managing Director of Nexpirit GmbH.

Within just a short time, three groups developed hands-on approaches – from the use of AI in compliance processes to strategies for sustainability communication and integration issues involving Silicon Expert and Teamcenter.

Looking ahead to 2027

The Nexpirit Customer Day thrives on open exchange, practical impulses, and perspectives that reach beyond industry borders. After its premiere in Kassel in 2023, the 2025 edition in Würzburg marked the next step – and certainly not the last.

“I warmly invite all customers to join us again in 2027 at a new location to continue the discussions around material management, substance compliance, and sustainability,” said Lucas Dann, Managing Director of Nexpirit GmbH.
